Karen Tyrrell is a prolific children's author who has self-published a variety of action-packed yet thematic books for kids over recent years. I know how hard Karen works to get her name and titles out there, and was very happy to be asked to review her latest book, Song Bird: The Battle of Bug World, recently.

The second in Karen's eco-fantasy, super hero Song Bird series, this one sees the main character, Rosie, trying to save her sister, and the planet, from an eco-terrorist who also happens to be her next-door neighbour.

As a huge animal lover and believer in sustainability and protecting the environment wherever possible, I loved that this Song Bird book highlights the importance of bees and other creatures to the planet, as well as various climate change issues. The book also deals with themes of self-belief, perseverance, resilience, friendship and more.
